Diana Olick at CNBC had a great story and video last week on our country’s HUGE housing shortage and builders can’t make up the difference. The U.S. Census Bureau says 12.3 million households were formed from January 2012 to June 2021, but only 7 million new single-family homes have been built during this time. Thus, as a country we are short 5.3 million single-family homes.
Thus, if you have people telling you that home prices are going to drop or crater, this is NOT possible when we have a HUGE SHORTAGE of homes to buy or rent. Here is a link to the story–
