Housing Wire ran a story last week on a Denver home that was listed for $370k, had 202 showings and received 56 offers. The home sold for $477k or $107k above the list price. The house appraised for $431k according to the appraiser who completed the report and was interviewed by Housing Wire. That appraiser Warren Boizot, president of BLG Appraisal Group said he routinely interviews listing agents to get more information on the sale, such as how many showings there were, and how many offers came in. Many appraisers also will call the listing agents of homes under contract to get his info from the listing agent. If you are a listing agent it is CRITICAL that you share as much info with the appraiser as possible.
