CO is Short 127k Homes

Up for Growth, a non-profit committed to solving our country’s housing shortage released a report last week in which they estimate that our country’s housing deficit has increased from 1.65 million in 2012 to 3.8 million as of 2019. It could be over 4 million now. Here in CO they estimate we are short 127k homes. Last year 28,500 single-family permits were pulled across our state. If builders could build 40k single-family homes a year it would take them 11 years to catch up. I don’t think this number is possible. What about you?

In a second story highlighting our housing shortage RE data company Anytime Estimate said Denver has the third-lowest homeowner vacancy rate in the country at only 0.70%. WOW!!! And our rental vacancy rate is just 4.50% the 12th-lowest in the country.
